Build me a working, private Instagram following-review dashboard called “The Follow Edit”.Collapse prompt
Build me a working, private Instagram following-review dashboard called “The Follow Edit”. Create the actual interactive dashboard, not just a written analysis, spreadsheet, mock-up or code snippets. Follow the specification below closely. Use only my own uploaded data. Do not invent usernames, follower counts, profile-check results or statistics. GET MY FILES FIRST I will upload my Instagram followers and following exports in HTML or JSON format. If I haven’t attached them, ask me to upload: • My following file. • Every followers file, including all numbered parts if Instagram split the export. Explain briefly which files you need. Do not start with demonstration accounts. Read and validate the files, combine all followers parts, remove duplicates and compare usernames without case sensitivity. Preserve dots and underscores. Support profile links containing either /username/ or /_u/username/. Identify accounts present in my following export but absent from my followers export. Describe these accurately as “absent from your followers export”. An export comparison does not prove whether an account follows me today. CHECK THE PROFILES If browser tools are available, open the Instagram profile links for the unmatched accounts and record: • Whether the profile opens. • Its displayed follower count, where visible. • The date checked. • The source and whether the count is rounded or approximate. Work in manageable batches and save progress. Clearly report how many accounts were checked, how many remain and anything you could not verify. Use these link statuses: • Opens normally. • Possibly unavailable. • Unable to verify. • Not checked. If Instagram explicitly shows that a profile is unavailable, put it in “Possibly deactivated”. This is a tentative label: it could also mean deletion, a username change or another cause. A login screen, age restriction, connection error or blocked request must be “Unable to verify”, not “Possibly deactivated”. A deleted-profile label in an export can be labelled possibly unavailable, but identify the export as the evidence; do not imply you checked it live. Do not guess follower counts. Unknown is not zero. Preserve the original displayed count when converting values such as “8.5K”, and label rounded counts appropriately. If a rounded figure does not establish which side of a threshold the account falls on, flag that uncertainty. If browser checks are unavailable, still build the dashboard from my exports. Leave unverified information clearly marked and give me working manual correction controls. Do not claim that you checked profiles. Do not ask me to paste Instagram passwords or session cookies. Do not bypass access restrictions. Never automatically follow or unfollow accounts. DESIGN Use a neutral monochrome design: • Off-white background: #FAFAF8. • White cards: #FFFFFF. • Near-black text and primary buttons: #202020. • Muted grey secondary text: #6B6B6B. • Light grey borders: #E3E3E0. No pink, burgundy, love hearts, flowers, romantic language or decorative emojis. Use clear typography, generous tap targets, subtle rounded corners and restrained shadows. Make it polished and easy to use on a phone, with a responsive desktop layout. Keep the top compact so the useful controls appear quickly. Avoid oversized introductory sections and long information banners. Use pill-shaped list tabs. The selected tab should be near-black with white text; inactive tabs should be light grey with dark text. Show small count badges. MAIN DASHBOARD At the top, show: “A LITTLE FOLLOWING REFRESH” Main heading: “Your following. Ready to review.” Below it, briefly explain that the dashboard compares my exports and uses recorded profile checks. Show the export snapshot date or label and an “Upload new exports” control. Immediately above the summary cards, place a prominent, full-width bordered box containing: • “Swipe review” • “Choose your follower range. Open a profile. Swipe to move on.” • A clear “Start swiping” button. Summary cards: 1. You’re following — total unique accounts in my following export. 2. Ready to review — remaining accounts meeting the review rules below. 3. Absent from followers export — total export mismatches, with the number of followers used for comparison. Keep snapshot totals distinct from remaining-work counts. Do not pretend that marking an account completed changes the original Instagram export. Add a clear gap between these summary cards and “Your review list”. ACCOUNT LISTS Include these tabs: • Review to unfollow. • Possibly deactivated. • Follows me. • Links that open. • Needs verification. • 10,001–100,000. • Over 100K. • All export matches. “Review to unfollow” must contain only accounts that: • Appear in following but not followers. • Have a profile link recorded as opening. • Have a recorded follower count of 10,000 or fewer. • Are not manually marked as following me. • Are not marked completed or possibly unavailable. Follower ranges must not overlap: • 0–10,000, inclusive. • 10,001–100,000, inclusive. • More than 100,000. Accounts with unknown counts must not be assigned a follower range. Keep unresolved review candidates in “Needs verification”. Clearly retain link-check uncertainty even when a follower count is known. The larger-account tabs are separate lists, not part of the default under-10K review shortlist. Do not include a “Keeping” section. Each account row should include: • Username. • Clickable Instagram profile link. • Recorded follower count, or “Unknown”. • Count source/check date. • Editable link status. • “Review / correct”. • “Follows me” where applicable. “Review / correct” must let me: • Enter or correct the follower count. • Change the link status. • Record that the account follows me, does not follow me, or has not been checked. • Undo an earlier correction. Marking “Follows me” should remove the account from the review shortlist and swipe deck, while keeping the correction accessible. Include username search, sorting by username or follower count, export-order sorting and pagination of around 30 accounts per page. SWIPE REVIEW PAGE Create a separate swipe page connected to the dashboard. Start with a compact header and a “Back to dashboard” link. Do not add a large slogan or introductory text section. At the top, let me choose: • 0–10K. • 10K–100K. • Over 100K. Show the exact boundaries nearby so 10,000 and 100,000 are unambiguous. Show one account at a time, with: • Username. • A simple initials avatar; do not invent a profile photo. • Recorded follower count. • Profile-check status and date where available. • A prominent “Open Instagram” link opening the profile in a new tab. Include only export-mismatch accounts with a known count in the selected range. Exclude completed accounts, accounts I marked “Follows me”, and possibly unavailable profiles. Clearly label any remaining unverified link status. Use this interaction: • Swipe LEFT: “Done — unfollowed”. • Swipe RIGHT: “Skip for now”. Also provide clearly labelled buttons for both actions, so swiping is optional. Require me to open the Instagram profile before marking it unfollowed. Opening a profile is not proof that I unfollowed: the completion action records my own confirmation. Swiping must never perform an Instagram unfollow automatically. After either action, advance to the next account. Include: • Undo last swipe. • A completed-account history. • Restore a completed account to the active lists. • Revisit skipped accounts. • Remaining, skipped and completed counts. • A small progress indicator. • Saved position and selected follower range. “Skip” is temporary. It must not become a permanent “Keeping” list. A completed account should disappear from active review lists and decks but remain recoverable in history. Make horizontal swipes work comfortably on mobile without breaking normal vertical scrolling or links. Support keyboard and button operation, and respect reduced-motion settings. SAVING, UPLOADS AND BACKUPS Preserve my corrections, completed accounts and progress after refresh. Browser-local storage is acceptable for this version. Clearly explain that it is saved in that browser, not automatically synced between devices. Provide: • Download a full dashboard backup. • Restore a backup, with confirmation before replacing existing data. • Export the current filtered list as CSV. • Upload fresh followers/following exports. Fresh imports should recalculate the comparison while preserving applicable notes, checks and completion history. Warn briefly if old checks may be stale. Allow restoration of a previously completed account if I need to review it again. Do not silently discard saved work when an upload is invalid or storage fails. Make backup restore and CSV export safe to use. PRIVACY AND HONEST FUNCTIONALITY Keep my personal account lists private. Do not publish them at a publicly accessible URL. If private hosting is available, use it. Otherwise provide a working local/private artifact supported by this environment and explain how to open it. Do not add a “Scan Instagram” button unless you actually connect and test a service that performs those checks. A website button cannot simply launch the browser tools from this chat. Keep explanations short and place detailed guidance in a collapsible help section. Do not add large warning or audit-summary boxes above the lists. Do not add content analytics, engagement charts or unrelated features. CHECK AND DELIVER Before handing it over, verify: • All uploaded followers parts were included. • Usernames and totals match my data. • Follower-range boundaries work correctly. • Unknown counts remain unknown. • Unavailable and unverified profiles are handled differently. • Manual corrections update the correct lists. • Left swipe, right swipe, Undo and Restore work. • Saved progress survives a refresh. • Fresh imports and backups preserve applicable edits. • The mobile layout has readable text, working controls and no overlap. Tell me which checks you actually performed and any testing limitations. Give me the finished dashboard and a short explanation of how to open it, upload new exports and use the swipe page. Begin by checking whether I have supplied all the necessary export files.
How to create your dashboard
Four simple steps. No coding needed.
1. Download your Instagram export
Instagram profile → menu (three lines) → Accounts Centre / Meta Account → Your information and permissions → Export your information → Create export.
Select your Instagram account, then Export to device. Under Customize information, choose Followers and following only. Set Date range to All time and Format to HTML, then Start export. JSON also works.
Older menus may say Download your information, Some of your information and Create files. When Instagram notifies you it’s ready, return to the export screen and download the ZIP.
2. Unzip it and find the files
iPhone / iPad: find the ZIP in the Files app and tap it.
Android: open it in Files by Google and tap Extract.
Computer: use your file manager’s extract or unzip option.
Open the extracted folder and look for connections → followers_and_following, or search for “followers”. You need following.html and followers_1.html, plus every numbered followers file if there are more. JSON filenames end in .json; a followers file may have no number.
Keep the actual files ready to attach — no screenshots needed.
3. Open ChatGPT Work and choose Astra
Start a new ChatGPT conversation and switch to Work. Open the model control near the message box and select Astra / GPT-6 Astra. If you see a Power control, use Advanced. Leave reasoning at its default.
Work and Astra availability depends on your plan, app and workspace.
4. Paste, attach and send
Use Copy prompt at the top of this page, then paste it into ChatGPT Work. Use the attachment control (+ or paperclip) to upload your following file and ALL followers files. Wait for the uploads to finish, then send.
Uploading in batches? First say: “Wait until I say all files uploaded before starting.” Confirm when you’re done.
ChatGPT will check your files and build the dashboard. Answer any follow-up questions, then open the finished link or file it provides.
